Atelier Ennadien
Ennadien Blink is a versatile artist. In the Netherlands, she mainly created art for her own puppet theatre – and for others’ theatres, such as sets and, of course, the puppets. After the theatre closed, she continued to apply those skills to create sculptures, which can be admired in the Sculpture Garden, and to produce paintings.
Upon moving to Burgundy, a region with a long tradition of ceramics, she also began working with this medium. She now creates a variety of works that differ from what most ceramicists produce.
She has also continued to develop her skills in glass art, particularly glass fusion. Glass is a marvellous material with a long history. Pieces of man-made glass dating back at least 7,000 years have been found! Glass allows for the application of many different techniques. Ennadien has opted for ‘glass fusion’ – fusing pieces of glass together to create a work of art. These glass artworks are ideal for hanging outdoors, as the weather has no effect on them, whilst sunlight makes them look even more beautiful. They can be flat (also very suitable for hanging indoors against a window) or three-dimensional. She is currently focusing on combining ceramics with glass. The peacocks are a fine example of this.
