Workshop Glas fusion
In the glass fusion workshop, you can learn about this technique for making something with the fascinating material glass. Glass fusion requires a special type of glass: the glass is layered on top of each other and then melted together in the glass oven. This means that the various layers have to expand and contract by exactly the same amount when cooling down, otherwise they break irrevocably. We have this glass in stock in various colours. The disadvantage of this glass is that it is very expensive, which is why the price of the workshop is somewhat higher.
For many it will be the first time, so the workshop starts with practising some basic techniques like cutting glass and designing the piece you want to make.
After that, we can get started! You will have a sheet of clear glass measuring 19×19 cm at your disposal, on which you will make your design using pieces of coloured glass. At the end of the workshop, we will place the work you have made in the glass oven, which will then be fired up overnight to about 750° C. By the end of the next morning, it will have cooled down enough to remove it from the furnace, and you can collect your work.
Cost
The workshop costs €50 all-in.
